<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dr. Richa Mohan developed an early interest in human behavior, emotional well-being, and social development, which eventually led her toward the field of psychology. Her curiosity about the human mind and her desire to support people through emotional and social challenges became the foundation of her professional journey.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">She completed her Master’s degree and M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Delhi, where she built a strong academic and clinical understanding of mental health and psychosocial care.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To further broaden her interdisciplinary perspective, she pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from IGNOU and received training in research tools such as SPSS. Her commitment to continuous learning also led her to executive training at IIM Bangalore, along with certifications as an NLP Practitioner and Clinical Hypnotherapist from the California Hypnosis Institute, USA.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This unique blend of psychology, behavioral science, management, and clinical training helped shape her holistic and people-centered approach to mental health and community care.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Career</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dr. Mohan began her professional journey in the mid-1990s with a strong focus on clinical psychology and community-based rehabilitation.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From 1995 to 1997, she worked as a Clinical Psychologist at Amar Jyoti Rehabilitation and Research Centre, where she gained valuable experience working with individuals with disabilities and psychosocial needs.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">She later joined Prayas, New Delhi, as a Research and Documentation Officer between 1997 and 1999. During this period, she worked closely on social development initiatives and programs supporting vulnerable children.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Between 1999 and 2000, she served as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Abhi Hospital &amp; Trauma Centre.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A significant turning point in her career came when she joined the Hemophilia Federation of India as Regional Clinical Psychologist (North) from 2000 to 2003. This role introduced her to the psychosocial dimensions of chronic health conditions, especially hemophilia, an area in which she would later make major international contributions.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Professional Leadership &amp; Contributions</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over the years, Dr. Mohan has taken on several leadership and consultancy roles across both national and international organizations.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From 2005 to 2008, she worked as Associate Director at the Asian Centre for Organization Research &amp; Development and contributed to projects associated with organizations such as UNICEF and Save the Children.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In 2009, she founded the <strong>Empowering Minds Society for Research and Development</strong>, where she currently serves as Founder-President. Through this organization, she leads initiatives focused on mental health awareness, education, women’s empowerment, youth development, and psychosocial support.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Her international work in the field of hemophilia care has been particularly impactful. She served as Vice Chair of the Psychosocial Committee of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), Canada, from 2008 to 2012, and later as Chair from 2014 to 2018.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In these leadership roles, she contributed to international treatment guidelines, educational curriculum development, and global capacity-building programs. She has trained healthcare professionals, psychologists, social workers, and volunteers across Asia, Europe, and Australia. She also played an important role in initiatives such as Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) and various international leadership programs.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dr. Richa Mohan’s work is deeply rooted in empathy, emotional resilience, and social transformation. She believes in combining professional expertise with meaningful human connection and community engagement.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prof. Dr. Saraswati Raju Iyer was born on September 30, 1968, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Smt. Jalajakshi Ramachandran, a homemaker, and Sri P.S. Ramachandran, a retired Senior Personnel Officer from South Central Railways, Hyderabad. She is the second of three daughters. Her elder sister, Smt. Usha Subramaniam, resides in Hyderabad, while her younger sister, Smt. Parvathi Shivakumar, lives in Canada.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">She completed her school education at Keyes High School for Girls and pursued her intermediate studies at Railway Junior College. Her graduation in Social Work was completed at P.G. College of Social Work, Hyderabad. She later pursued higher education from Osmania University, Acharya Nagarjuna University, and Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Career</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prof. Dr. Saraswati Raju Iyer is an eminent academician, sociologist, researcher, and social worker with decades of experience in teaching, research, administration, and community service. She currently serves as Professor and Chairperson of the P.G. Board of Studies in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Throughout her career, she has held several important academic and administrative positions including Head of the Department of Sociology &amp; Social Work, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Member of the Executive Council and Academic Senate, Director of IQAC, and Coordinator of Community Social Responsibility.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prof. Iyer has been actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and academic research. She has guided 30 Ph.D. scholars and 5 M.Phil. scholars and completed 42 research and consultancy projects. Her scholarly output includes 151 research papers published in national and international journals, 82 book chapters, 158 study lessons for the Centre for Distance Education, and 21 e-content modules for the UGC SWAYAM platform.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">She has authored books including <em>Counselling for Women Living with HIV/AIDS</em> and <em>Indian Society: Problems and Issues</em>, both published in 2016.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prof. Iyer has represented India at several international conferences and academic forums in countries including the USA, Nepal, Vietnam, Morocco, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prof. Dr. Saraswati Raju Iyer is married to Dr. Raju S. Iyer, a cardio thoracic surgeon associated with Katuri Medical College Hospital, Guntur. The couple has two children. Their daughter, Dr. Deepa Raju, is married to Sri Balaji, a Chartered Accountant, and resides in Dubai with their children Dhruv Iyer and Tanya Iyer. Their son, Sri Hariharan Raju pursuing his M.S. in Computational Sciences from Germany. Prof. Dr. Saraswati Raju Iyer is a distinguished academician, researcher, and social development expert whose contributions to Sociology and Social Work have significantly impacted higher education and community welfare. Former Head of the Department at Acharya Nagarjuna University, she currently serves as Chairperson of the Postgraduate Board of Studies in Sociology and Social Work.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over the course of her illustrious career, she has held several key academic and administrative positions, including Member of the Executive Council and Academic Senate, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, and Coordinator for Community Social Responsibility at Acharya Nagarjuna University.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A gold medalist from Osmania University, Prof. Iyer possesses an impressive academic background that includes B.S.W., M.S.W., M.A. in Sociology, N.E.T., S.L.E.T., I.C.C.C. A trained psychological counsellor, she has also completed specialized courses in Guidance and Life Skills Education, strengthening her expertise in counselling and human development.</p>

Since 2019, she has been serving as a NAAC Peer Team Member in Bangalore while contributing to several national and international academic and professional bodies.</p>

Her literary work gained recognition when her first book, <em>My Poems in the Land of Sunrise</em>, was released by the then Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Gegong Apang. In recognition of her contribution to literature, she was honored with the title “Poetess of Arunachal Pradesh” in 1993.</p>
