Dr. Haleema Yezdani is an Indian physician whose work reflects a deep commitment to making healthcare more accessible through technology. With over two decades of experience in medicine, she has devoted her career to helping patients receive timely medical care and guidance. Her journey into telemedicine was driven by a simple but powerful idea that quality healthcare should reach people regardless of where they live.
Career
Dr. Haleema Yezdani is a general physician and diabetologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Over the past decade, she has increasingly focused on telemedicine, using digital tools to provide consultations and support to patients who may not be able to visit hospitals or clinics easily.
Her dedication to digital healthcare has earned her global recognition. She was named among the Future 50 Clinical Leaders in Telehealth by HIMSS, an international acknowledgement for professionals shaping the future of healthcare through technology and innovation.
In addition to her clinical work, she serves as Ambassador for Telemedicine Today – Karnataka India Chapter and Ambassador for the Global Telehealth Exchange, where she helps promote awareness and collaboration in telehealth practices.
Dr. Yezdani also leads the BENFA Health Care Program as its Director. Through this initiative, she started a free telemedicine helpline to assist people who may not have easy access to medical services. The program ensures that individuals in need can receive professional medical advice without financial or geographical barriers.
Contributions During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Dr. Yezdani’s dedication to public health became especially visible during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this challenging time, she volunteered with several healthcare support initiatives, including Project StepOne, Mercy Mission, and other emergency response groups.
Through tele-triage and online consultations, she helped guide and treat more than 7,000 COVID-19 patients on a pro bono basis. Her efforts helped patients receive timely medical advice while easing pressure on overwhelmed healthcare facilities.
Social Initiatives
Beyond medicine, Dr. Yezdani is also committed to social empowerment. She serves as Director of Women Empowerment for the World Peace Organization – Karnataka Chapter, where she supports initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s leadership and community participation.
Her work reflects a belief that healthcare professionals can play a meaningful role not only in treating illness but also in building healthier and more empowered communities.

Dr. Haleema Yezdani has received over 20 Plus national and international awards for her work in healthcare and telemedicine. Some of her notable honours include the Jewel of India Award, Best Expert in Telemedicine, National Women Pride Award, Karnataka Mahila Ratna Award, and the Global Icon Award presented by the UK Parliament and the Government of Sri Lanka.
Her achievements have also been widely recognized in publications and media. She was featured among the 20 women achievers from Karnataka in the book Dream Big and listed by Fox Story among the Top 100 Influential Indians.
Internationally, her work has been highlighted in the Canadian French newspaper Le Devoir. She has also been featured in CIO Prime Magazine and appeared on the cover pages of Glorious India Magazine and Prime Health Magazine. In addition, she was included in the global publication Top 100 Women of the Future, released in Miami.
