Early Life
Dr. M. Saratha was born in the small village of Boothapandi in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. Growing up in a modest environment, she developed a deep sense of empathy and responsibility toward society from a very young age. Witnessing inequality and hardship around her shaped her desire to create meaningful change. These early experiences became the foundation of her lifelong commitment to social service.
Career
Driven by a strong passion to uplift underprivileged communities, Dr. Saratha founded Seven Rays Foundation in Hyderabad. What began as a small initiative gradually evolved into a large-scale social movement with over 3,000 volunteers.
Under her leadership, the foundation has undertaken impactful initiatives such as distributing groceries, educational materials, and essential supplies to economically weaker sections. She established 7 Saakshar education centers to provide free education and basic necessities to children in slums. Her work also includes organizing blood donation drives, plasma donation camps, and supplying oxygen cylinders during the COVID-19 crisis. Through webinars and awareness campaigns, she has also addressed mental health and community well-being.
Personal Life
Currently residing in Hyderabad, Dr. Saratha leads a life deeply intertwined with her mission. She believes that service is not separate from life but an integral part of it. Despite her demanding work, she emphasizes the importance of maintaining balance by spending time with family and prioritizing health. Her personal philosophy revolves around compassion, resilience, and faith.
