Early Life
Amb. Dr. Jayalakshmi Rao Sanipina was born on 25 May 1957 in Parlakhemundi, located in the Gajapati district of Odisha, India. From an early age, she displayed a strong interest in education, literature, and social service. She pursued her higher education at Sri Krishna Chandra Gajapati College in Parlakhemundi, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1977.
She later earned her Master of Arts degree in 1979 from the Post Graduate Department of Berhampur University at Bhanja Bihar in Ganjam district, Odisha. Continuing her academic journey, she completed her Bachelor of Education degree from Dibrugarh University in Assam in 1987. Her passion for knowledge and dedication to academic excellence shaped her early career and inspired her lifelong commitment to education and social development.
Career
Dr. Jayalakshmi Rao Sanipina began her professional journey as a Lecturer in Economics at Baba Vishwanath College in Cuttack, Odisha. She later served as a lecturer and principal in educational institutions across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh for over twelve years.
During her time in Arunachal Pradesh, she actively contributed to promoting the region’s culture and literature. She wrote articles highlighting the social and cultural aspects of the state, which were published in the weekly edition of the Arunachal Times. Her literary work gained recognition when her first book, My Poems in the Land of Sunrise, was released by the then Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Gegong Apang. In recognition of her contribution to literature, she was honored with the title “Poetess of Arunachal Pradesh” in 1993.
Over the years, she expanded her work beyond education into journalism, publishing, literature, and social activism. She currently holds several international leadership roles including Ambassador of the World Human Rights Protection Commission and Global Peace Ambassador of The American University, USA.
She also serves as International President of the Women’s Wing of the International Human Rights Ambassadors Organization, International Vice President of the International Economics Federation, and National President of both the World Culture and Environment Protection Commission and the World Human Rights Protection Commission. Additionally, she works as the National Secretary of the All India Journalist Rights Parliament Forum.
Her professional roles extend to being a writer, editor, publisher, poetess, author, educationist, economist, and environmental advocate. She has also been recognized as a NASA Top Contributor and served as a Planetary Defender in the Double Asteroid Redirection Test missions in 2021 and 2023.
Personal Life
Dr. Jayalakshmi Rao Sanipina’s life is guided by strong spiritual and humanitarian values. She has been deeply inspired by the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and actively participated as a delegate and council member in international conferences of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization.
Her guiding philosophy, “Service to Mankind is Service to God,” has shaped her lifelong dedication to humanitarian work, education, and human rights advocacy. Through her professional and social initiatives, she continues to promote peace, compassion, and social responsibility.
Achievements and Recognition
Amb. Dr. Jayalakshmi Rao Sanipina has received more than 200 national and international awards in recognition of her contributions to education, literature, social activism, and human rights advocacy.
Some of her notable awards include the Asian Education Award, Mahatma Gandhi International Nobel Peace Award, International Presidential Award, Nelson Mandela Fellowship Award, Rastriya Padma Bhushan Samman Award, Rastriya Ashoka Samman Award, Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Bharat Bhushan Award, Global Women Achiever Leadership Award, and the International Leadership Award at the Indo Japan Conclave Summit 2025 in Tokyo.
She has also received international recognition including the Popular Queen of Universe 2023 Earth Crown Winner in Dubai, Best National Custom India Winner at the International Sustainable Fashion Show 2023, and Futuristic Leadership Award at the International Education Entrepreneur Summit in Dubai.
Her achievements have been recognized by several global record organizations including the UN Book of World Records, London Book of World Records, European Book of World Records, US Book of World Records, and Forbes Book of World Records UK. She was also listed among the Top 100 Influential Women by Bliss Queens International in London.
